ABOUT BLACK DAHLIA INK

OUR HISTORY

Black Dahlia Ink began in 2015, when Emzie took over Alternative Ink at 27 Totteridge Road, High Wycombe. Wanting to make the studio her own, she rebranded, and with some elbow grease and a lick of paint - Black Dahlia Ink was born!

Over the years Emzie has poured her heart and soul into Black Dahlia Ink, ensuring that each and every customer has a wonderful experience (and love for their new body art). We use cruelty-free, vegan inks and have a thorough cleaning regime to ensure shop cleanliness and prioritise health and safety.

The team has grown over the years, with Meg joining in 2023.  Black Dahlia Ink are proud of our family unit and look forward to many more years serving our future and repeat clients.

HOW TO FIND US

We can be found on Totteridge Road, on the corner of Peterborough Avenue and opposite

Sword House.

High Wycombe Station

We are only a five minute walk from High Wycombe train station. If travelling from platform 3, leave the station and follow Duke Street up to Totteridge Road, then turn left and follow the road to the shop across the street! If arriving from platform 1 or 2, exit the station from the main exit/entrance and take the steps to the right of the station. From here, turn right and loop back along Totteridge Road, then cross the street at Sword House to find us!

Bus

There are a number of bus routes that travel to High Wycombe station or Totteridge Road, mainly the number 33. The nearest bus stops is at the Duke Street stop on Totteridge Road, you'll find us on the corner of Totteridge Road and Peterborough Avenue.

Parking

Unfortunately we only have two studio parking spaces available, but there are plenty of Pay & Display options nearby. Parking can be found on Totteridge Road immediately after the station, on Peterborough Avenue, Duke Street and Gordon Road. We recommend using the Peterborough Avenue street parking as this is the cheapest and is the closest to the studio.

OUR SERVICES

Tattoos start at £50 to cover our minimum set-up charge, which covers a 30 minute appointment - these are for very small, simple designs or repeat touch ups. Our hourly rate is £100, and our day sessions cost £500 to cover a 6 hour appointment.

Cover ups

Thorough and effective coverups are offered by Emzie, and smaller ones by Meg.

Custom tattoos

We prefer all our tattoos to be custom, so please feel free to ask when you send your idea over.

Piercings

We currently have George our junior piercer working by appointment. At the moment, allpiercings are £10 (x2 for piercings that require 2 puntures, such as an industrial) feel free to enquire for more details.

He only uses plain stainless steel and titanium jewelry, as other meterials and designs are prone to infection and cause damage. 6 weeks after your piercing is performed, you can change the jewelry to something more to your style.

Heres a list of the piercings he can perform:

  • All ear piercings - Cartilage ear piercing (helix, rook, daith etc), industrials and orbitals.

  • Most Facial and oral piercings (excluding things like snake eyes and venom etc)

  • Surcae piercings and micro dermals

  • Nipples

Some piercings require physical check to see if its possible based on your anatomy.

Piercings are available from age 16+ with valid identification, or 14+ with own parent or guardian present. Some piercings such as nipple, tongue, naval and surface/micro dermal are restricted to individuals who are 18+ and proof of valid identification is required.
